10 Victoria Street, Bristol
urbanspec HTC Bespoke Bike Hub
10, Victoria Street, located in the heart of Bristol’s central business district is a five-storey office development, with a striking Grade II listed facade. The 48,000 sq ft of office space redevelopment completed Q4 2021 includes a comprehensive upgrade to Cat A standards and a new extension to accommodate commuter facilities, including showers and changing rooms
Following vacation of a long-term tenancy, owners NW3 Victoria Limited took the opportunity to modernise the property with the refurbishment project undertaken by Estilo Interiors. With a sustainability focus, the redevelopment project has included new cycle storage and EV charging facilities for future tenants.
Project Architects GPAD London put forward a brief for the cycle storage facility on the 10, Victoria Street project which required a self-contained unit that could house a large number of cycles within a compact footprint, without compromising the design aesthetic of the surrounding scheme.
Additional features would include a cycle repair station, lockers and E-Bike charging points within the store. Following a space planning assessment, the decision was made to work with two-tier cycle racks.
Working with the urbanspec design team, a bespoke HTC Bike Hub was developed to provide secure storage for 68 cycles, incorporate the required design features from the brief and fit the 8700mm x 6640mm footprint. The unit houses 6 two-tier cycle racks, each with ten spaces, and 8 Brompton cycle lockers. Access to the store is controlled with a key fob and magnetic locking system.
Specified with urbanspec ForestPanel™Iroko timber cladding on three elevations and the ZedPanel™ V-Mesh security panel system to the building front, personal security with clear vision through the store, natural light and architectural considerations have been accounted for.
