The Chambers Green development in Needham Market, Suffolk, is a multi-million-pound regeneration project at the former Mid Suffolk District Council headquarters. The new development is being delivered by Mid Suffolk Growth, a joint venture between Mid Suffolk District Council and the Norse Group. The development consists of a mix of 92 new homes for sale and affordable rent as well as a food and convenience store to support the local community.

Cocksedge Contractors, established in 1938, worked alongside architects Hamson Barron Smith on the first phase of the development to build 32 new-build homes and 2 apartment blocks. Phase two will include the development of 60 additional homes on the Chambers Green site, providing a mix of two, three and four-bedroom houses.

Cocksedge approached urbanspec to supply and install a mixed package of secure external bin and cycle storage across the site. Utilising a single source for all external storage on the project meant a consistent design aesthetic could be applied across all storage units as well as simplifying the overall design, manufacture and installation process.

To house the communal waste and recycling bins, a urbanspec P-Series Bin stores unit was specified, with the capacity to hold 4 770L-1280L 4-wheeled bins. For ease of use, the unit was fitted with signage and apertures designed to aid the separation of recyclables from general waste. Internal waste containment deflector plates were also fitted to ensure all deposited waste is captured within the bins.

A urbanspec PL bin stores was also installed, providing the capacity to hold four 2 wheeled waste bins. All units were specified with ForestPanel Firenze cladding providing a smart and consistent aesthetic to all external storage across the site.

To further enhance facilities for local residents, two urbanspec M-Series Bike Store units were installed at the development in matching ForestPanel cladding. The two units provide secure storage for a total of 22 bicycles and were fitted with ST cycle stands fixed in the toast rack formation for optimal storage capacity.
