The Manor Street Regeneration Project is an exciting development in Braintree town centre, designed to revitalise the area with a blend of commercial, residential and community spaces. urbanspec was commissioned to provide high-quality commercial bin storage solutions as part of this transformative scheme.
Developed by Kier Construction, the mixed-use development includes a 70-room hotel, a new bus interchange, a two-storey car park, 35 new homes and a modern healthcare facility housing the Livewell Hub, offering a GP surgery, pharmacy and preventative healthcare services. The development also features a new public realm with an accessible garden area for the local community to enjoy.
The regeneration effort breathes new life into the town centre whilst respecting Braintree’s rich heritage. The project is beautifully integrated into its surroundings, with the new buildings designed to complement the historic Grade II listed Braintree Town Hall and the charming old buildings in the area. The attractive new developments enhance the environment, preserving the town’s character while delivering modern, practical amenities for residents and businesses alike and waste management was a crucial aspect of this. It was imperative that urbanspec incorporated appearance, design and functionality into the manufacturing and installation of the bin stores required here.
For this project, urbanspec delivered the P-Series Bin Store; durable, commercial bin housing designed to accommodate general and commercial waste. The store was finished with ForestPanel timber slats and a strong galvanised steel frame, with standard lock and key access. Specific signage was incorporated to clearly identify the waste and recycling areas, ensuring efficient waste management across the development.
This project forms part of the wider regeneration initiative in Braintree, bringing essential infrastructure, modern facilities and enhanced public spaces to the town centre, while enhancing the beauty and character of its historic environment. urbanspec are delighted to have worked together, bringing attractive and effective waste management solutions to the exciting development.
