St Modwen Park, Newport
St. Modwen Park in Newport is a sought after industrial and logistics hub strategically located at the gateway to South Wales.
Close proximity to Junction 23a and the M4 provide excellent transport links to both Wales and the Southwest with Cardiff located only 12 miles away and Bristol 30 miles. Close proximity to the Swansea to Paddington Mainline and the proposed Llanwern Park & Ride Metro Railway station provide ideal commuting links into the park. The park has already successfully attracted well known organisations such as Amazon and CAF’s £50m train production facility.
As part of the ambitious development plan by St Modwen Logistics & Industrial, top specification office space, generous parking and yard facilities were designed to help attract further manufacturing and distribution businesses to the park. The second phase of this scheme included the development of 130,000 sq ft of warehousing & industrial space in addition to the 215,000 sq ft of space already completed.
Adding secure cycle storage was a requirement as part of the ongoing development scheme. Main contractor Benniman Ltd specified 3no. BIKE-S 12 units with integral cycle racks and locking points providing secure storage for 36 cycles. Each store was designed to occupy a 2002mm x 4818mm footprint.
The Bike-S units were specified with urbanspec Firenze Anthracite heavy gauge steel panels and HD galvanised frame for excellent long term durability. For a consistent design approach each unit featured vertical signage with colour scheme specific to the St Modwen development complimenting the surrounding architecture. The open fronted design and unique slot pattern in the panels provides clear line of site through the store for personal security.
urbanspec E-Series Enclosure Systems and bespoke urabsnpec plant screens for fixed plant and recycling bins were included in the external works supply and fit package. These also used the same colour scheme for design consistency.
