The Cofton Centre, Longbridge
Set over 35 acres and forming an integral part of the largest regeneration project in the West Midlands, The Cofton Centre in Longbridge is a flagship development for St Modwen Logistics. This self-contained secure estate houses 160,280 sq ft of industrial and logistics warehouse space, in addition to achieving BREEAM Outstanding certification and an EPC A+ rating. Main Contractors for this development were GMI Construction, who have worked alongside leading UK industrial design specialists, UMC Architects.
Working with GMI, urbanspec delivered a single-source solution that covered the design, manufacture and on-site installation of bike stores, bin stores, street furniture & building service enclosures. Specified units included the Bike-S Module, urbanspec P-Series Bin Stores and a Bespoke Plant Screen. In addition, the City3 Street Furniture series was utilised to provide benches, picnic tables and litter bins, encouraging the use of external spaces for on-site staff and visitors.
Installation for the Bike-S Modules was made at a prominent frontal location. 4 no. units were specified with an open faced front that establishes a clear line of sight, allowing users to monitor their bikes when stored. Each individual module utilises stepped lockable trays to provide secure storage for 12 no. bikes, amounting to 48 spaces in total.
Installed in close proximity were the urbanspec P-Series Bin Stores, with a total of 6 units providing capacity for 660L-1280L 4-Wheeled Bins. The Bespoke Plant Screen provides a building service plant enclosure and was specified with a side elevation, incorporating a freestyle panel in order to provide effective visual screening. All units were specified with anthracite grey cladding, providing a contemporary tone that coordinates well with the commercial industrial environment and warehouse building façade.
